The Kasamba’s school opened its doors in September 2014 with 130 students from Kasamba and Bulanda villages, located few kilometers from Lubumbashi.
Since the beginning of this new experience, the rewards are numerous.
Indeed, the children spoke only Swahili, their native language. Over the weeks, the language of Molière begins to find its place in the middle of this small village.
Next year, sixty new children will receive that chance.
During the school year, several events takes place such as St. Nicolas where a show is presented by each class helped by their teachers, then the distribution of gifts (school bags, flask, …), the distribution of snacks, all with the presence St Nicolas.
Other events take place as various proclamations of results, Fancy Fair New Year. The opportunity for everyone to be aware of changes in the grade. A development that is not only remarkable in the basic acquisition of French but also in the general behavior of children. Physical health is also a point at which great attention. A doctor goes on site every week to check health of young schoolchildren.
A new project is in the process of offering comprehensive training to the parents in order to optimize the conditions in which children evolve.
